Let's highlight one of our talented Canadian 3M Authorized Trainers today! Name and Role: Chris McGregor, 3M Authorized Trainer at @wrapu.ca Training Campus. Years of Experience: Over 25 years in and around the industry. Early in my career I actually taught the owner of the company I now own. After working in freelance design, he hired me in 2007, and in 2012 I was given the opportunity to purchase the business. Within three years we had expanded significantly, while learning every side of the craft, like design, production, installation, which eventually led me to focus on supporting the next generation of installers. When we moved into our new space, I mapped out a section for what would become Wrap U, 3M’s first independent wrap training facility in Canada. It’s now beginning to operate in Alberta as well, giving installers across the country access to the level of OEM supported training many of us never had when we started. Specialties or Favorite Training Topics: I’d never say I specialize in anything because I’m always learning, as we all should be, but if I had to pick something I enjoy the most, it’s wrapping 53' trailers. Give me rivets and a big panel, and I’m happy. What Do You Love Most About Training?: Watching someone go from never touching a squeegee to installing confidently without fear, seeing that moment when it finally clicks is the best part. One Tip for New Installers: Stay humble. None of us were born with this knowledge. Learn what you can, and when the time comes, pass it on. Favorite Part of Being a 3M Authorized Trainer: Realizing these programs existed and helping bring them to Canada, so future installers can get a better start in their careers. Good training doesn’t just teach a skill, it can change the direction of someone’s entire career. Another Wrap U session in the books — and this one hit different. Watching new VCC and WWF Preferred Installers earn their stripes was incredible, but what really stood out was the growth, grit, and determination this group brought to the floor.
