A few weeks ago, we successfully installed our wind turbine on the roof of Pleasant Lake Elementary School!
Through this installation, the turbine powers a tablet in the students’ learning center, where they can interact with live updates and see firsthand the energy the turbine is generating.
We hope this installation serves as a source of inspiration for its students, encouraging the next generation to pursue renewable energy and sustainability.
We look forward to what the year ahead has in store!
Our first PLE activity day of the year was a success! The kids created their own cardboard turbine blades, tested them, and watched LEDs light up on our breadboard setup. A great day of hands-on STEM learning!
The team has been hard at work these past few weeks with testing, upgrades, and planning for our next design cycle. We’re excited to see our turbine on the roof of PLE soon! 🌬️⚙️
Happy first build day of the semester! Today we finished putting our turbine up on the Wilson Center roof for testing. We are looking forward to meeting new members at our GBM this Thursday!
Our first mega build day is officially complete with our structure subteam hard at work forming our housing and facing the elements for our successful first round of zinc electroplating testing!
"I checked the weather this morning and grabbed a light coat! It's meant to be WARM"

Despite the snow on the ground, our woven wind team members were hard at work today in the FRB maker space as we prep for our up-coming out-reach days with nearby elementary schools!
