we started working on these songs in 2021 and sometimes it felt like they’d never see the light of day. they survived a move from new jersey to philadelphia and so much change. and now they’re yours to listen to!

my song “rachel” is out now wherever you listen to music ⭐️ this song is a time capsule back to 2004 when i was devastated that my best friend moved away. it’s so cool to be able to look back and see how i was processing things and even cooler to be able to wrap it up into a song 20 years later.
i remember being in first grade and thinking all it took to make a song was to add some “oh yeahs” and it turns out i was right

i love how this song is a weird little snapshot of my life at that time and it is so interesting to see the big emotions i was feeling as a little girl. hope you enjoy ❤️

this song is old, like years old. at the time of making it, i remember saying something like “if every person had a song that represented who they are, this would be mine.” i’m not sure if that’s still true, but it’s certainly a big part of who i am and it is really wonderful to get to share that with you. after all this time and the big life changes that have come with it, lilacs has been a constant that is now immortalized :)

☝️ the last three slides are from july of 2022 at the old @mtmoonrecording in highland park, NJ when @justincalaycay and i recorded the song and i wrapped myself in a blanket and we ate a family size big dinner box of pizza hut and i was so excited dude
a lot has changed since then but one thing that hasn’t is that i would love to eat a pizza hut big dinner box with my best friend
