As we continue to grow, we need to build a sustainable infrastructure to support more and more events. Our goal is to gather data and make decisions based on the next five years to support the west coast swing community for years to come.
We will be putting together a Data Analytics committee to help us strategize, plan and make decisions that will support growth and community building globally.
If you are interested in being a part of the Data Analytics committee, email [email protected].

🏆WSDC Hall Of Fame Spotlight: Matt Auclair - 2025
Matt Auclair has been in the dance community for 36 years. He began his dance career at the age of 8 as a junior dancer, who was taught for free by Eman and Nitz Alderman (who taught any young dancer that wanted to learn every Sunday at a bowling alley), and supported by South Side Imperial Swing Dance Club in St. Louis.
Matt has always tried to pay that forward by running junior programs for his local swing dance clubs for at least 10 years, with no compensation. He currently has 14 Juniors that he works with at his home every week.
Matt’s favorite achievement is that dancing is his side gig, as he is an Elementary teacher and is going on his 19th year as an educator (either 3rd or 4th grade). He finds ways to incorporate dance to give his students ‘brain breaks’ and to allow them chances to move. He believes this is partially the reason that he has been recognized twice for Teacher of the year (one as a District award, and the other as a national award)!

🏆🏆Hall Of Fame Spotlight: Dani Canziani - 2025
Dani Canziani’s swing dance journey began in 1989; after having danced and competed in the country western dance circuit. In a southern California country bar, she saw a dance she hadn’t seen before and fell in love with it. The leader, Tom Maddox from northern California, explained that it was West Coast swing. As of the next weekend, she literally began traveling to southern California every weekend to immerse herself in West Coast Swing dancing. After moving to Sacramento, she discovered, and joined, their West Coast Swing dance club, quickly becoming an active member!
Besides actively competing in Jack and Jill contests, she has competed in both Couples and Teams division (placing twice at the US Open with the west coast swing team, River City Rhythm, 1996-1998).
