This June, the Eternal city of Rome will play host to the World Skateboarding Tour as the pathway to the 2028 Olympic Games begins in earnest.
The Spot Skatepark in Rome’s waterfront district of Ostia will greet hundreds of skateboarders from around the globe on June 7th for the WST Rome Park World Cup, before the action switches to the shadow of the Colosseum one week later for WST Rome Street in the Colle Oppio park overlooking the world-famous landmark.
Both WST Rome World Cup events offer free entrance to spectators- where else can you say that?- and, given that it will be foot to the floor for every skateboarder involved between now and Los Angeles, this is a perfect opportunity for you to get yourself along and watch many of the greatest skateboarders of their generation do battle in front of your very eyes!
If you can’t make it to Rome in person this June, fear not- because we will, as always, be beaming all the action worldwide in real time online, including from the Qualifier and Quarterfinal rounds, too!

World Skate’s Olympic Solidarity-funded Development Scholarship Programme has delivered its first large project of the LA28 Olympic cycle, in the form of an international hybrid skateboard training camp at the vast Woodward East action sports facility in Pennsylvania, USA.
A total of sixteen skateboarders, seven coaches and five judges from Ghana, Indonesia, Mozambique, Zambia, Hungary, Morocco, South Africa, Kazakhstan, Botswana, Senegal, Uganda, Bulgaria, Venezuela, Hong Kong and Gabon converged on the camp, having been accepted onto the programme which runs all the way through to LA28.

Four world-class cities will host the Olympic Q-Series (formerly the Olympic Qualifier Series) in an exciting and expanded format on the road to the LA28 Olympic Games.
Stop 1: Tokyo, 4–7 May 2028
Stop 2: Shanghai, 11–14 May 2028
Stop 3: Montreal, 1–4 June 2028
Stop 4: Orlando, 8–11 June 2028
By bringing six sports together in one series across multiple cities, the Olympic Q-Series makes the road to the Games easier to follow, more visible and more exciting for fans and athletes alike.
Further details on the Olympic Q-Series 2028 – including ticketing, broadcasting and the sports programme for each stop – will be confirmed at a later date.
So this is it: the Road To LA28- and what will no doubt be the two biggest skateboarding contests in the history of the culture- begins in the Italian capital just one month from now, with WST World Cup Rome 2026.
From the Eternal city to LA28, the World Skateboarding Tour forms the only pathway to skateboarding at the Olympic Games- and we will be broadcasting all the action live from every Street and Park stop across the world on our YouTube channel throughout the entire cavalcade.
The Road To LA28 starting gun has just been fired- so join us for every twist and turn of what you know is going to be a wild ride all the way to Los Angeles, two summers hence.

The future of skateboard judging…
World Skate and Skateboard GB have successfully delivered an Olympic Solidarity-backed Judging Development Pathway project to focus on best practices of international-level competition judging. Ensuring the accuracy, fairness, and credibility of competition outcomes skateboard events.
This programme aimed not only to raise the standard and professionalism of judging at National level but to create pathways for talented judges to both develop and progress at both National and International level.
Congratulations to Kaitlyn Massey, Jim Langran, Laurence Partridge, Sam Sheridan, Eliana Woosnam and Jessie Fleischhack who have successfully certified as World Skate Level-01 Judges.
Massive thanks goes to ISJC members Jean-Baptiste Gillet, Alexis Jauzion and World Skate’s Head Of Judging Martin Karas for undertaking a multi-stage education and evaluation process over the last 7 months.
