As you finish up your holiday shopping, please consider buying a book (or a few!) for an incarcerated person through the Prison Books Project, or donating directly to the project to help support mailing costs. These books help folks cope with their prison time, whether it be to further their education, travel to far off lands through stories, or create their own worlds through roleplaying games.
This project has helped send over 5000 books in the last 4 years to incarcerated folks throughout the Hudson Valley and New York State. You can purchase books here at World's End, as well as at other participating shops @binnaclebooks@roughdraftny and @oblongbooks . We take care of mailing them (with the help of @halfmoonbooks )

Some of you may remember the little Jenga tournament that we held at Rough Draft back in December. Well, there was enough demand that we’ve decided to hold another one! This time we are excited to be partnering with our friends at Kingston Standard (site of our mid-month board game gatherings)!
It will take place at Kingston Standard at 2 pm on Sunday, May 17. There is an entry fee of $10 per player – and all of it will be donated to the Kingston YMCA Farm Project for their continued amazing work in our community.
The more players we get, the more we show the Y Farm Project how much we appreciate them! So come grab some pizza and a beer to steady your hands, and get ready to build your tower as tall as you can before it all comes tumbling down!

Help us send books to incarcerated folks, this week and every week (but especially this week)!
In honor of Independent Bookstore Day today, the @prisonbooksproject has received a generous matching grant to help purchase MORE books for folks in NYS prisons.
Our shelf is already looking a bit sparse after today, but we're refilling it as we speak! You have until May 2 to sponsor a book for the Prison Books Project and help us earn that matching grant! So stop in to World's End Comics & Games, and any other participating location (see below), to help bring education, imagination, and entertainment to folks who really need it!
HOW IT WORK: Folks in NYS prisons can send in postcards requesting books. Volunteers tabulate those requests and portion them out to participating stores, who then order those books and put them on a dedicated shelf. Customers can "sponsor" a book by purchasing it and writing a note if they'd like. Then the participating stores take care of packaging up and shipping the books!

Free Comic Book Day is coming on Saturday, May 2!! (And due to changes in the comic industry in the last year, some publishers are calling it Comics Giveaway Day instead.)
We'll be open from 10am–6pm, so come on by to get some FREE COMICS from all of your favorite publishers. It's a great way to read unique stories from series you love, and also to try out some new series! We'll have comics for all ages.
All customers are entitled to 3 free comics each; or one of as many titles as you want with purchase of $5+; supplies limited.
We will also have:
