Meet Sean-Claude Neufville! ❤️‍🔥 He will showcase his work during BECOMING All About Love, on May 22nd in @podiummozaiek Sean-Claude Neufville is a Jamaican-born Trans activist, Storyteller and Creative Director who migrated to The Netherlands as an asylum seeker in 2015. Sean-Claude integrates his lived experiences and knowledge to aid his liberation work and craft grounded in healing and community building. During BECOMING, he will show us his work called “A waah di chile story”. This work acknowledges his Jamaican heritage, Maroon ancestry and the Jamaican queer community that uses the art of storytelling to aid their queer liberation work. Within their community, they would say; “A Waah di chile story?” The literal translation is “What is the child story”. “Chile” is a code word for Gay or Queer. This phrase is used at times when someone unfamiliar comes into a queer space or meet-up on the streets. It is used to inquire who you are. However at the core of this phrase what is conveyed is “We see you, we hear you, all of you are welcome here, Share your truth with us." We can't wait to see what he has in store for us! Meet: Citrine Bodega ❤️‍🔥🅱️ @_koots will be performing during BECOMING A Ball, on May 8th in @theaterkikker ! Brandon Koots (he/him), also known as Citrine Bodega in the ballroom scene, was born and raised in Curaçao and moved to the Netherlands a few years ago after completing his studies in Argentina. Since moving in 2023, he has been active in ballroom, starting with vogue femme and quickly finding himself in European Runway. He started as part of the Kiki House of Pastechi and is now part of the Legendary Elite Kiki House of Bodega (@bodega.nl ). Being a fan of Miss Universe competitions as a child, it’s only logical that his category in ballroom is runway. For this performance, he shows a runway performance exploring who he would be if he didn't have to suppress parts of himself. Meet: @la.incaluluh ❤️‍🔥 She will be performing during BECOMING A Ball, on May 8th in @theaterkikker ! Iris Mia Illari Zambrano Vera, better known as La Inca Luluh 007, is originally from Ecuador. A multidisciplinary artist and a passionate member of the Dutch ballroom scene. Behind the grand prizes, the drama and the glitter, there is a person that advocates for the collective and individual betterment, for honesty, transparency and a life full of joy and risks but no regrets. She also has her own wig business, offering wig styling, maintaining and installing services called @inca.installs ❤️ In her performance, Luluh will explore the stages of grief through a mix of voguing femme & belly dancing. Transforming her experience in life, our skin in the world as a woman of trans experience in a form of a cabaret. A cathartic epiphany that embraces grief and the ephemeral nuances that life caters to us. You will see and hear the lamentations of an individual and the process that a person can navigate from anger to happiness and to the ultimate euphoric ecstasy. Meet: @duraaboahene  and @lionel_deul   ✨ They will be performing together during BECOMING A Ball, on May 8th in @theaterkikker ! 🪩 Lionel Deul (he/him) is a writer, poet, community organiser, and a proud member of the Dutch ballroom scene. In his writing he is inspired by the words and works of those queer Afro-Caribbeans who came before him, and every ballroom legend whose legacies he hopes to do right by. When he walks the Old Way as Lionel Mermaid he carries that legacy with him and uses it as a guiding light for his performance. For Duraa, who is a word artist, singer-songwriter and theatre-maker, poetry means both protest and joy. Her work ranges from fierce social criticism to fiery self-love and from bold pieces about sex and sexuality to personal works about this unbearable life. The last few years, she has dipped her toes in the ballroom scene and discovered its powers of community and self-exploration. Her categories - Old Way and Sex Siren - allow her to play with an endless range of energies, such as masc, femme, hard, soft, playful and elegant. Duraa and Lionel will present a performance that combines poetry and Old Way Vogue, celebrating those who came before us. Two identities that are portrayed as being like oil and water. This dance performance aims to bring these two worlds together, their queerness and their Caribbean identity. 🌈 @qottonz performs 'A Knot Manifesto’, using the 'knot' is a metaphor for both Qotton's movement practice that is highly inspired by New Way Voguing, and also how their cultural, social, racial, gender identity intertwine. 🌈 @duraaboahene and @lionel_deul present a performance that combines poetry and Old Way Vogue, celebrating those who came before us. 🌈 @la.incaluluh explores the stages of grief through a mix of Voguing Femme & BellyDance. Transforming her experience in life, our skin in the world as a woman of trans experience in a form of a cabaret. 🌈 @therealmisscolombia will mix real-life experiences with behind-the-scenes glimpses of the ballroom community into a performance featuring her signature Sex Siren energy.
