‘IRIDESCENCE’ 2023-25 There are very few of my paintings that I want to keep for myself and display on my walls. I suppose it’s to do with that strange relationship between Creation and Creator. As the creator you have the burden of being hyper-critical but you also have the ability to see potentiality. As I reflect on the ethereally of the human experience, this exercise was a practice in letting go. I had to sacrifice a painting that I once deemed ‘finished’ in order to inject it with a new life. All in exploration of whether a painting can demonstrate mycologist Merlin Sheldrake’s theory that humans are just ever changing ‘streams of consciousness’.

The life cycle of ‘DYNAMISM’ Starting with the original painting on wooden board, showing a few shots of the processss and finishing with the newest edition hand finished prints with @enter_gallery published by @ccagalleries and produced by @wortonhallstudios currently being shown at @londonoriginalprintfair 🥳💜 This piece explores the butterfly effect, playing with unpredictability and exercising letting go of control. The circular surface and the intuitive mark making process, represents the ‘Tao’ or the ‘Way’ an eastern thought on the ever changing flow of the universe. This piece taught me that these objects that I breathe life into really do have a life of their own and to honour the ‘happy accidents’, because I believe there are no mistakes in life. Something you might think of as bad, will lead to something good and something you might think of as good will lead into something bad. The flow of life is full of unexpected surprises and you never know what card you might be dealt. Trusting the process while painting this reminded me to walk through life with more confidence and knowing that everything will work out in the end. ~ limited edition prints available ~ enquire on enter gallery website (link in bio) ~ original is available ~ enquire through DM, my website or my email [email protected] #thelondonoriginalprintfair #colourfulabstract #trusttheprocess

If I’m honest, I’ve always been slightly concerned that when you make prints of original artwork, the essence of the piece might get lost. The texture, the spontaneity, the life. That feeling that the work is alive and breathing. It hasn’t been until now, with my newest limited edition prints made with CCA Galleries, that I feel I’ve truly managed to capture that true essence of what my art is all about and it happened accidentally. Last week I headed to Worton Hall Studios, a place where legends of the art world have stepped foot. The pressure was ON. At first, when I began cautiously adding the hand finished elements, every stroke, every little jolt and movement was carefully considered. I moved with precision. Then next thing you know, I accidentally dropped a splodge of thick paint around the edge of the circular image. The funny thing is, This piece embodies the butterfly effect, responding to the idea that small initial paint stokes spiral into to unpredictable large scale outcomes. The circular surface and the intuitive mark making process, represents the ‘Tao’ or the ‘Way’ an eastern thought on the ever changing flow of the universe. The Tao invites you to let go of control and move with the current rather than against it. And in that moment, the painting became exactly what it was always meant to be. What continues to amaze me is how painting continuously becomes my teacher. Even these prints ended up teaching me something. The moment I stopped trying to control every detail was the moment the work came alive again. It reminded me that art, like life, breathes best when you allow space for the unexpected. The accident wasn’t a mistake. It was the whole point. The launch of these prints will be at @londonoriginalprintfair in May #ccagalleries #fineartprintsforsale #londonoriginalprintfair #handfinish

To me, art isn’t just luxury… which is what the art world might want you to think. It’s meant to be raw, messy, unfiltered and it’s meant to make you FEEL something. It’s meant to be a catalyst of change. I’m on a journey to find the balance between finding my feet as a full time artist that can actually eat and keeping the true essence of what I believe art should be alive. So glad to have you with me on this journey <3 #artistsjourney #process #workinprogress

My travelling painting series explores movement how we journey through new environments and how those experiences shape us. As I travel, the canvas travels with me, becoming an extension of myself and my circumstances. I am interested in the idea of whether a painting can be considered alive. I believe that every painting holds a form of life, as it is constantly changing and slowly decaying as time unfurls, much like most things in the natural world do. However, I want to challenge this notion by shifting the focus from decay to growth, allowing my paintings to adapt, evolve, and transform through the environments they encounter. Creds to @_joey_ishaq_ for the amazing 🎶🎸📸 #travellingpaintings #thelakedistrict #processart #abstractacrylicpainting #concept

Capturing movement. As a painter, my practice has always been about capturing the essence of flux, knowing the only constant in life is change. This past week I went on a creative getaway to the Lake District. I usually pin my canvas between two trees to create a square surface, but this particular place didn’t offer that. Instead, I wrapped the canvas around one large tree. For me, this felt revolutionary, a new process unlocked. Moving around the trunk while painting created a constant stream of shifting stimuli that I rushed to collect and absorb onto the surface. My view changed with the light, the uneven ground, the full 360 degree circumference of this wonderful tree, and the continuously transforming landscape. #paintingprocess #travellingpainter #natureart

This painting’s name changed from Coral Void to Resistance when I returned to it a year later. When I first started it, I was teaching myself how to use oil paints. I’d just left university and was lucky enough to win an artist residency in Margate, where I was given a studio space. It was a slick, black, old-school print workshop with big doors and a moody atmosphere. I remember it feeling quite dark. I had transitioned from a massive shared studio with more people than space to an equally large space with only two people. I went in with big plans to work with the community, to throw workshops and guided walks for fellow artists in the area. But once I was there, a kind of blue seeped into my mind and I went totally into my shell. It’s strange how your environment can shift your chemistry like that. The seascapes of Margate inspired the name Coral Void, and it really encapsulated a feeling at the time. Later, I worked back into the painting using water. The relationship between the two substances, or perhaps the way they repelled each other, is what eventually made it become Resistance. I think it’s important to know the story… sOLD #ContemporaryPainting #AbstractArt #PaintingProcess #ArtWithStory #artistjourney

“Antonia” – The Passion Project I had the honour of photographing the incredible @worksinprogressss inside her studio. Antonia is a phenomenal artist whose love for colour spills not only into her work but into the world arround her! This series marks the beginning of The Passion Project, where I’m exploring how passion shapes identity, builds community, and connects us to the world around us. If you have a passion for something, especially something a little unusual, and would be open to being photographed or filmed reach out. #thepassionproject #photoproject #bodyofwork #passion
