Most knives use a sharpening choil.
The RMX Caiman uses a finger choil and that choice was intentional.
“As soon as a sharpening choil hits cardboard or plastic, it can catch and pull forward.” – Dan Dovel, Principal Engineer
By using your finger as the stop instead of the blade geometry, the Caiman lets you cut all the way through material cleanly without hanging up. It also lets you choke up close for controlled, efficient slicing cuts.
The Reserve Series RMX Caiman pairs the compact RMX frame with a Reverse Tanto blade for added piercing strength, slicing control, and serious utility in a smaller carry profile. Finished in Crocodile Green Cerakote and built for everyday hard use.
Bass fishing has changed a lot over the years. Technology, competition, pressure, expectations. Somewhere along the way, a lot of people feel like the sport lost a little of what made them fall in love with it in the first place.
In our new film with Colby Pearson, we get into all of it. The evolution of bass fishing, the tension between old and new, and why the fun still matters.

I brought the @worksharptools to our last bear camp to sharpen everyone’s knives. I guess I did too good of a job because now people are trying to guilt trip me into giving away my sharpener… not gonna happen. I love this thing too much.
The portability of this kit is one of the main reasons I like it so much. Just throw it in the back of the truck and bring it along to whatever camp you’re headed to next.
A closer look at the new RMX Reserve Series.
Compact reverse tanto blade in CPM-3V, finished in Crocodile Green Cerakote and sharpened to 15° per side right out of the box.
This one has been one of the most requested RMX configurations we’ve seen, so we decided to build a limited run and see what you guys think.
Launches May 18 at 10 AM PST.
Let us know — should the Compact Reverse Tanto become a permanent part of the RMX lineup?

Some of the best lessons don’t happen in a classroom.
They happen on the trail.
In the dirt.
Side by side.
This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the ones who teach by doing, passing down skills, curiosity, and a hands-on way of living.
Here’s to the moms raising the next generation to get out there and figure it out. 🌲

The day has come!!! The Work Sharp RMX with Thumbstud arrived! I thought it was good but it surpassed my expectations. Fit and finish, handling and smoothness are just perfect. Also love the bronze color. Great job people at Work Sharp! @worksharpknives@worksharptools #worksharprmx #worksharprmxthumbstud #rmxthumbstud #knifelife #dutchknifecommunity
Glassy smooth or gritty?
It comes down to your pivot and bearings.
We tested multiple setups. Semi-caged bearings let in more dirt and added drag. So we moved to a full cage, brass caged ceramic bearing with more balls.
Smoother action. Cleaner feel. More consistent deployment past 90°.
If you’ve handled an RMX… what do you think?
Pressure hits different when everything’s on the line.
