Workers United is saddened to hear of the passing of iconic civil rights leader Reverend Jesse Jackson. He leaves behind a lifelong legacy of fighting for civil rights, from marching alongside Dr. King in the 1960s to leading Black Lives Matter protests in the 2020s. Rev. Jackson was a dedicated partner to our union and the labor movement, and instrumental in supporting worker organizing, marching, rallying, and helping unions build strong contracts throughout his life. In Rev. Jackson's own words, "There is no civil rights movement without workers' rights, and no economic justice without strong unions."
