Some details from the final phase of my Yucca Valley project. This project was one of the most challenging and rewarding to date. Made from 100% solid hickory, the space features two 14’ long continuous built-in bookcases, one floating vinyl storage unit and a one-of-one custom hifi console. I knew this project would either make me or break me, and it did a little of both lol, but I’m so proud of the finished product and the knowledge and experience I gained was worth every bit of blood, sweat and tears. S/o to my helping hands @mortibean @craigwhodoesnthaveIG and a very special thank you to @jayde.cardinalli and @farhadsamari for keeping me housed, extremely well fed and topped off with mezcal. Onto the next one 🔨 #yuccavalley #joshuatree #woodworking #ladesignweek

2023 was a year of high highs and low lows for Alf Aesthetics. If you don’t follow my personal account, you might not know that a few months back my workshop suffered a devastating fire resulting in a total loss of all of my tools, materials, various items I’d collected over the years and ultimately, the structure itself. While insurance was a big help in replacing the essentials, it was not nearly enough to offset the loss of use of my space. Over the past few months I’ve done a lot of soul-searching and debated whether or not to continue with Alf given the emotional and financial toll this has taken on me, but after having some much needed time off, I’m happy to report I will be taking new commissions in January of 2024. If you’re interested in a custom piece or have an idea for a project, feel free to message me for an estimate. I could use your support now more than ever. Thank you all and cheers to rising from the ashes 🥂
