Sometimes we separate our worlds in two, as if Ashura’ was in the past. We become sorrowful for all the injustice, trahison, sacrifices and bloodshed our Imam lived, forgetting that we also have the Imam of our time waiting on us because he’s experiencing the same thing. Being silent towards isr a hell and am erka means the ones that were silent when facing Yazid. It means being silent when Imam asked “are there any people out there that would make us victorious?” and people did nothing because they were scared for their lives if they spoke up. Hurr was too late. He did repent after he opposed our Imam, and his story is a learning lesson so that we don’t have to make the same mistakes he did, with Imam Al-Mahdi aj. If we really wish we were standing with Imam Al-Hussain (as), today is our chance to prove to God and to him and his grandson that we are not scared of speaking up for justice and truth against evil, because we have honor. Because the picture is bigger than this wicked world. Because الله اكبر. Either our tears fall on the ground in Muharram for Imam Al-Hussain (as), or we collect them and make an ocean for the ship of Imam Al-Mahdi (aj)… منك الامان يا صاحب الزمان عج 🤍

Every new year we tend to think how we can gain more, forgetting about everything we already have, and have also gained throughout the years. In an era where everything is so fast, with so many different desires displayed to lure us into wanting more extravagant materialistic things, maybe it’s time to unlearn the lies of social media, and give more importance into polishing and enjoying every blessing we already do have. Rather than always feeding our ego with the urgency of wanting “more” materialistically, let’s work on being satisfied with God’s daily blessings that we tend to forget. More is not a material substance, as materials have limitations; a beginning and an end. More is the immaterial, it’s the abundance of what makes us grow from within — infinitely — like the richness of forgiveness and love. With all the terror lived in Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan, and everywhere else around us, seeing the cup half full becomes a must. We can’t take our “normal” for granted any longer. Let’s be grateful for every single blessing God gave us, from our health, to our sight, to our loved ones, and even smiles. This year, let’s look back on everything we do have. Maybe we can slowly realize how we’re already so rich..
