Massing studies for a new build in Ashburnham adjacent to Lake Watatic. The owners of this lovely piece of land are seeking a modest-sized, spacious-feeling house set into the woods. Final image is one of a number of solar studies, testing shadows from existing trees across the various slopes of the site.

What a difference opening up a wall can make! The light quality is totally different in both rooms and without adding any square feet - both spaces feel bigger. Delighted where this one is headed (swipe for renderings).

Site visit to a nearly finished project in Ipswich on a perfect fall day - little cloudy, bit chilly, slight breeze that gets the leaves going, and with a water view. The part of the house to the left got all new modern windows and doors and some lovely dark trim to complement an extensive interior renovation.
