Buddy man
Playful characters, indecisive lines, and contradicting forms, Mamaril rejects the balance of ecosystems by forwarding works that abandon all structural demands. Evidently, the non-normative approach employed by the artist demonstrates a quiet rebellion and a gentle remembering of a person independent from all meaning imposed by externalities. His work displayed, which spans years to date, conveys an unapologetic message that transposes the very meaning of existence as he lives through hostile spaces and circles. Irrespective of recognition or whether they would care to admit it or not, an entire generation of homegrown artists from the 4023 to 4026 has similarly adopted his approach to creativity. His works are realized in other people’s writings expressed in metal roof sheets, transcendental colors, and flowing shapes.

Franco Mamaril (b. 1996 | San Pedro, Laguna) creates artworks that reflect his experiences through online and offline interactions and programming languages. His artistic approach involves transforming traditional media into generative images via experimental design software. By engaging in these realities, Mamaril enhances his narrative-making and explores themes of acceptance and the impact of internet culture. Active in the art circuit since 2021, he has collaborated with local collectives like SPK and
@multicabpress , participated in the 2023 digital residency Portal Park in Rotterdam, and will attend a creative retreat in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro in 2024.
