Veil & Revelation
A couple of variations of the same portrait, processed slightly differently. I can’t decide which one I enjoy more. I like them both for their own reasons so I’ll share both instead 😛
Between realms // in transit
Shifting, sliding, watching from the sides. a freeze, a melt, a dive headfirst. morphing & metabolizing - a metamorphosis.
In other news,
I read an Ansel Adams book the other day and now I can’t stop shooting for black and white. It’s a fun exploration - it sort of strips the experience back a bit. It’s got me more focused on texture and composition, as well as the interplay of light and shadow. Sometimes post processing images can feel a bit “down the rabbit hole” when there’s color adjustment happening, but black and white gives a bit of a limitation in how crazy you can get with the edits. As I understand it, Amsel Adams stuck to monochrome photography, even after the advent of color film. Limitations can be liberating 🐼🦨🏴☠️
