Donderdag 28 mei brengt deze duo double bill twee bijzondere muzikale ontmoetingen naar Brebl: Ella & Wolfert en Kristina & Jeroen.
Een avond vol lyriek, verbeelding en improvisatie, waarin twee duo’s ieder hun eigen intieme en grensverleggende klankwereld openen. Van poëtisch samenspel tussen gitaar en piano tot een betoverende mix van stem, piano, elektronica en poëzie: dit wordt een concert voor liefhebbers van avontuurlijke, verstilde en meeslepende muziek.

This is what it feels like when working together is slowly materializing. For a long time in the making, after an initial try-out with #Lemuria a few years ago, a new collaborative work is in development. A shared history of seemingly same memories yet decidedly different experiences, tracing our stories back to the beginning in blending sound and image.

R.I.P. Richie Beirach. Your solo, duo (w/David Liebman) and trio albums, the band Quest, your compositions, the integration and deep knowledge of 20th century harmony, the astonishing re-harmonizations of standards and your sound have all greatly inspired me. Unfortunately I never had a chance to hear you live. Thank you for your legacy
R.I.P. Ralph Towner. You have been such an inspiration to me throughout my life. For me the album ‘Solstice’ was a musical knock out and it helped me greatly in mapping out my own path (I even named a group of mine after your composition Nimbus). Followed by so much more beautiful albums with ao Oregon, Gary Peacock, John Abercrombie, Gary Burton... I vividly remember your mesmerizing solo performance in a Rumanian church, just after the release of My Foolish Heart, and meeting up afterwards and having dinner together. Thank you so much for your poetry and all that you’ve given! Modest giant!
