Column of Heaven return for one night only in honour of our dear friend Nick Gergesha.
We’ll be playing the exact same set as we played on May 3rd 2014 at Soy Bomb. Nick’s moshing stole the show that night, partly captured on YouTube in fragments.
No new music. No new merch. No additional shows.
CCA149 Andrew Nolan - Sacrifice LP/Digital out now on Closed Casket Activities
Produced, Engineered and Mixed by Andrew Nolan
Mastered by Justin Broadrick
Artwork by Rich Carson
Featuring Karkossyn on Our Voices Are Already The Wind
Vinyl Manufactured by Burlington Record Pressing
After recent releases with Full of Hell and The Body Nolan returns to his early 90s pirate radio roots and brings us eight songs of industrialized dub and hip hop, initially written at home then loaded onto samplers and road-tested and reconfigured at various sound systems and live shows across the UK and Canada throughout 2024 and 2025.
“The idea was to reframe sounds and rhythms of everyday life within each piece and to repurpose environmental sounds and sounds of unwanted error into the album” Nolan explains, “On There’s Worse Things Than Serpents the track really took shape after performing it live a few times, when in Bristol, England I played a show in the crypt of a 14th century church and the sound system was so loud it took down part of the ceiling and shook the stained glass windows so violently we thought they were going to shatter. Thankfully I managed to get recordings of these and reincorporated them back into the final version of the song.”

Out today on Phage, Monochrome Vol.2: Tentacles of Spiritual Contagion.
Vol.2 of the series (a home for abandoned, lost, one offs, previously uncollected, demos, alternate versions etc) primarily takes the industrialized dub route - as opposed to Vol.1’s mutant boom bap style - with a quick detour into mutant jungle.
Several of these tracks were previously available on @industrialcoast compilations. Steve Kirby is a national treasure.
Features from:
Like Weeds
Xicada
New Villain
KNG Bondalero
Stalingrad
Art and layout by Youth & Rust.
Live Photo by Alex Clancy.
Relevant parties tagged.
From last nights gig, thanks to everyone that came out to invoke Pan. Sumer is icumen in.
Materials from Sacrifice, Black Dogs (next release), and a couple of sly dubs of an artist I’ve been working with who was in the room were played.
Spectacular visuals by @omniveil who made the performance what it was.

Sacrifice is out now on Closed Casket Activities. Eight songs of industrialized dub and hip hop, utilizing the sounds of crumbling buildings, electromagnetic fields, dying samplers, and household electrical goods (and a family of crows in Yorkshire).
Released in 2025 on cassette by Industrial Coast, art by Rich Carson, mastered by Justin Broadrick, Karkossyn features on one track. Several pieces up on substack with background about the release.
Two local shows coming up:
May 13th at St Stephen’s in the Field, featuring visuals by Omniveil with One Leg One Eye, Efrim Manuel Menuck.
May 28th at BSMT254, featuring New Villain, with Fatboi Sharif, Icky Reels, and Escote.
"Sacrifice features eight songs and twenty-nine minutes of electronic music inspired by hip-hop, dub, industrial and noise, but that somehow sounds like none of these. It’s a very precise sound that only Andrew Nolan could come up with. The songs are mid to downtempo and flow into one another the way a soundtrack to a movie that doesn’t exist. There’s a weird relaxing quality to it, but it also feels exciting in the way doing something forbidden knowing you won’t get caught is." Link to full review in bio 🤓

Hangashore, the film I scored, gets its Toronto premiere at the Canadian Film Festival on March 26th at Scotiabank Theatre.
The film cleaned up the awards at Fog Fest in 2025, including best score and sound design.
