Losing my positivity, putting unnecessary hope in others and forgetting that I’m not the only one living in a strange / whackadoo world, feeling hard feelings ,dealing with the weird f***’d-up-ness The Universe throws at us to try to come out on to, to potentially be better versions of ourselves. Damn it’s tough! It’s frustrating, isolating , emotionally exhausting, ALL THINGS LAME! I think it’s really important to post that there is no face for health complications. It doesn’t always jump out at you through a picture or a video. It’s a snake in the grass, it’s hidden and can be hidden well.
I am unwell,I have Type one Diabetes which has led to heart complications, loss of vision, and most recently Stage Four Kidney Failure.
It’s A LOT! I will need dialysis and a kidney-pancreas transplant to save my life.
I blamed myself for this, could I have done better,tried harder of course,but inevitably years of diabetes would eventually lead to some health struggles.
I have to be present, there is no other option then to try to get through this. It’s scary, hard work,saddening, all of the things. I just have to Nike the Hell out of the entire situation ( just do it )
Please take care of yourselves,develop a close relationship with your doctor,feel good about healthy choices and sexy about knowing your health status. Support people battling health issues because this vampire isn’t picky about its victims at any time things can change. You might get bit!I am finding strength in posting this, reaching out and educating myself and others on the complications of Diabetes and Kidney Failure. Don’t be a stranger!🖤

👻 It’s taken me a long time to fully accept being a Type One Diabetic. To be confident in my own skin enough to make the decision to start wearing a DexcomG6 and an Omnipod. I was afraid what people would think, what I could and could not wear,how it would feel to be continually reliant on a machine. I wanted to believe I would and could do it on my own.Both of these machines have changed me and have saved my life. I have gotten my A1C from an 8-9 to a 5.7.
