WMN* is back on Friday 18th July at @referencepoint180 with ‘Intimacy & Care’ 🫂🗓️ The evening will showcase the work of dancers, filmmaker, intimacy coordinator, and visual artists whose practices are shaped by ongoing research into intimacy, vulnerability, censorship, and safety. The event will start with a dance performance by @salomepressac and artwork presentation by @yolandaliou @ambrosiafortuna and @susankellaway.studio . Followed by a panel conversation, moderated by @ellamonnerat , reflecting on the challenges and nuances of portraying intimacy in creative work, from navigating safety on and off set to negotiating the boundaries between visibility, vulnerability, and censorship. Last Friday, Girls in Film and WMN (@wmn.events ) presented Bodies in Motion, an evening of cinema exploring the language of dance and movement. We opened the night by bringing dance into the room with a live performance by @beckynamgauds , setting the tone for an evening of powerful storytelling through movement. We then screened six incredible short films, each showcasing how the body can express life’s moments and emotions without words. These films touched on themes of vulnerability, identity, self-expression, and body image, revealing the many ways movement can tell a story. The screening was followed by a Q&A, then a chance to connect over music from @nina_signorina .
