SUNDANCE 2025 MIDDLETOWN MEGA POST!!!
I’m a bit tardy in sharing these, but to be fair I’ve been laid up with the Sundance flu.
1. I’m so very fortunate to have been able to go on this ride with @jessemoss and @amcbaine . They are Masters Of Their Craft in every sense of the phrase. I’m so proud of the work we did & my favorite memory of this festival is going to be the times I shut my big yap and just listened and soaked up their wisdom of every aspect of the business. Invaluable.
2. If I brought an “overwhelmed substitute teacher” vibe to the red carpet, it’s only because it was in the spirit of the movie.
3. Immense gratitude to all of our subjects @fredisseks@docraimist@jeffrey_dutemple@mregan12550 and David Birmingham. You’re all a massive inspiration and a blast to spend some time with.
4. Producer Dannny Breen is not on social media. He rules.
5. Producer @florriepriest is on social media. She rules.
6. Associate Editor Connor Hall - also not on social media, also rules.
7. Was so geeked to get to work with composer @shinylittle on this one. Any doc editor worth their salt has temped with his WELCOME TO LEITH or LIFE, ANIMATED score at one point or another and I am no exception.
8. Was presented with this Middletown letterman’s jacket after our premiere. I was moved to tears! VARSITY, BABY!!!
Hey! Just in case you’ve got one of those emmy votes, don’t forget about the NJ legends @patrickjpespas and @sam_lipmanstern !! All time dream project, all time dream team. So insanely proud of how this show came out and how it resonated with folks. Spent the entire edit giddy with the fact that Pat and the rest of the CDG crew would be going from an anonymous office park to HBO Sunday Night At Ten. While it was great for the Critics Choice Award to make an appearance at a tattoo shop in Metuchen, NJ - let’s get some more hardware over there. This time, maybe I’ll get that “Blazin’ Fast Wifi” tattoo I’ve been thinking about…
