We are excited to announce the verbal commitment of Adrian Phu, a Libero from Langley, British Columbia, to the Waterloo Men’s Volleyball program. 🏐⚫🟡 Adrian joins @wloomvb from Fraser Valley Volleyball Club, where he has developed into a hardworking and dependable presence in the backcourt. As a Grade 11 athlete, his defensive consistency, compete level, and passion for the game make him an exciting addition to the future of the program. Adrian says, “I’m extremely excited to continue my academic and athletic ambitions at the University of Waterloo! I’m so grateful for the opportunity to represent the Warriors and take this next step in my volleyball journey. I’m forever thankful to my coaches, Coach Jeff, Coach Henderson, Coach Harv, and everyone else who has helped push me in every aspect to become the athlete I am today. However, none of this would be possible without my parents’ support, from every late night drive to every early morning tournament, and I’m so thankful to have had them throughout this journey. We are happy to announce the signing of 6'5" middle blocker Zachary Himyary to @wloomvb for the 2026-2027 season. Zachary is a powerful presence in the middle of the court, running intense pressure wherever he steps. Zachary says "I’m incredibly excited to continue both my academic and athletic journey at the University of Waterloo! I want to thank my family for their constant support throughout my volleyball journey, my teammates on every team for pushing me, and creating unforgettable memories, and all of my coaches over the years who have helped me grow as both a player and a person. We are proud to announce the signing of Easton Li, a Libero coming across the provinces from Calgary, Alberta. Easton comes to @wloomvb from Dino's Volleyball club, where he is a versatile and hard working player in many positions on the court. He has an in depth knowledge of the game that we are looking forward to having on our team. Easton says "I am very excited to continue both my academic and athletic journey at the University of Waterloo. I am incredibly grateful to my parents and coaches, Coach Mirka, Rob, Ellen, and Thibeault for supporting me throughout this process and helping me reach this point. Last weekend members of our team had an amazing time at Marathon of Sport hosted by @motionballuw ! 💛❤️ The day was a day full of fun, competition, and community. With around $15,000 being raised for the Special Olympics. A huge shoutout to our teammate for the day, local Special Olympics athlete Blair, who brought incredible energy to every game! We can't for next year!

We are proud to announce the signing of Ben Mangat, a 6'4" outside hitter from Calgary, Alberta. Ben is a well rounded athlete coming to @wloomvb from Team Alberta and the Jr Dinos club where he commands the court and demands results. Ben says "I can't wait to be a Warrior and compete both in the classroom and on the court. I would like to thank my family for supporting me every step of the way, and my coaches Jarron, Colton, and Tommy, because none of this would be possible without their help. Congratulations to our two overall Judy McCrae Warrior Impact Award winners, Fehin Awobodu and Heavlyn Sekyere, as well as all team recipients. This award recognizes one member from each team who excels in academics, athletics, and community service.

Congratulations to Fehin Awobodu for winning the U SPORTS Dale Iwanoczko Award!   🏆 This Award is given to a student-athlete who exhibits outstanding achievement in three areas: volleyball, academics and community involvement.   ☝️Fehin is the first Waterloo Warrior to win the U SPORTS Dale Iwanoczko Award, after having won the OUA Award only a few weeks ago.   Congratulations Fehin!   #GoBlackGoGold

We are excited to welcome Parsa Khodaian from Unity Volleyball Club in Kitchener, ON to our 2026 team. Parsa is a powerful left handed opposite, hailing from our very own KW area. His strong approach and dedication to his team are something we look forward to having as he joins us next season. Parsa says "I am incredibly excited to be a part of the Warriors and cannot wait for the opportunity ahead of me. I want to give an enormous thank you to my parents, and my family for being my biggest supporters throughout my journey. Without them, I would not be where I am today!
