Elton Ward, known in movement as Vil, is an international Krump artist, ambassador, and curator for the Rochester dance community — a quiet force within its rhythm. A leader in the Rochester Krump movement and founder of TRUKrump Collective, he builds spaces where dancers come to train, connect, and rediscover their purpose through motion.
For over 12 years, Elton has moved through styles — Krump, Tutting, Waving, FlexN — shaping his craft in battles, festivals, and stages across the world: NYS Dance Challenge, World of Dance, Battle Fest, StepUp Dance Competition, and the Fringe Festival’s “Late and Live.” to name a few.
He currently teaches dance through Hochstein School of Music, leading after-school programs both on and off campus, and serves as an instructor at the University of Rochester during the spring semester.
Each step is a message, each movement a reflection. His mission is simple — to spread awareness through motion, to grow through experience, and to remind the world that movement is medicine, and purpose moves too.
