✏️ 🎨 🔬 💻 Wildcat Wednesdays at Shortlidge Academy are opening the door to creativity and exploration for young learners. Each week, students dive into STREAM activities like music, dance, digital art, and hands-on science while teachers engage in professional learning that strengthens the classroom experience.
It’s one example of how schools across the WLC are bringing exciting enrichment opportunities directly into the school day.

☀️ Registration is NOW OPEN for the 2026 Hicks Summer Camp! Hosted by the City of Wilmington Department of Parks & Recreation in partnership with Reading Assist, Hicks Summer Camp offers nine weeks of learning opportunities for youth ages 5-13, where kids can continue learning all summer long while still having fun.
FREE registration is available for City employees and families receiving Medicaid or SNAP benefits!

🌿 Partner Spotlight: Delaware Urban Greens 🌿
We’ve teamed up with @delawareurbangreens to bring Nourish & Nurture Retreats to WLC educators. The experience blends superfoods, sound therapy, and gentle movement to support wellness for mind, body, and spirit.
DUG’s mission is to make healthy living accessible by connecting people with fresh food, wellness education, and community care. 🌱
Executive Director Lanice Wilson shared: “In January, educators told us the program is changing how they manage stress and care for themselves. In February and March, we measured that change happening in real time, session by session. Mood rises. Stress falls. Educators leave lighter than they arrived. That is why this program exists.”
We’re thankful to partner with a team that helps our teachers rest, recharge, and reconnect. 💚
