This isn’t the sport you think it is.
To launch @the_pjl_official we created a film that breaks from the polite applause that defines how showjumping has always been presented, and shows the world the hidden reality of the sport.
The drama, the tension, the raw athleticism of two athletes – horse and rider – pushing the limits of physics together.
Directed by @nicolinak
Not all athletes are human.
Introducing our new brand for @the_pjl_official – a global showjumping league built to show this sport as it really is. Not formal and reserved. But full of adrenaline, athleticism and awe-inspiring skill.
Our identity is anchored by the rail – jumping’s most iconic fixture. It grounds the visual identity from layout to motion, scaling from merch to OOH, and is brought together with a logo shaped by the most exhilarating moment in jumping – the moment the horse and rider clear the rail.
To capture the power of horse and rider, we traveled to Wellington, FL to shoot with photographer @danieljbenson who translated his approach shooting BMX to horses. Paired with a visceral tone of voice, we’re bringing the true spirit of this unique sport to life. Right down to a custom typeface – created in collaboration with @studio_drama_ltd – that leans as far forward as the riders themselves.
LOTS going on. Enough to make us forget some of these model names. Not enough to make us stop serving though. 🦉
