Developing NEON Gloop!? 🖼️
Goal: bright, fluorescent gloops in hot pink and neon green 🧬
For the first experiment I am adding three different rare earth oxides to my standard gloop recipe: neodymium, erbium, and praseodymium. 1g of each oxide to determine a baseline color payoff.
Fingers crossed we see some good results tomorrow 🤞

Lunar Crater is back in stock! 🌕
Back in November for cyber Monday wizard did a lil mini launch of this glaze and I’ve been getting requests for a restock ever since!
Bits to note:
Not food safe 🚫
Apply thick for best effect - one thick coat or 3 brush coats
Fire to cone 5/6 (has not been tested to cone 10 yet)

Updated results in the quest for Neon Gloop! 🌈
I pumped up the pigment from 1% to 7-9% depending on the oxide. I’m pretty happy with how the praseodymium green turned out! But it’s not exactly that neon/uranium glass look I’m really looking for.
Not gonna lie the chemistry isn’t totally on my side for my vision of neon gloop… but! I’m literally not gonna stop until I exhaust all avenues 😜
Which color is your fav from this test? 💐

Glaze Sprinkles!? 🍭
At NCECA 2024 I launched a super limited edition product “sprinx” which was glaze sprinkles made from my studio waste! ♻️
At the end of glaze batches there is often a small amount of glaze that won’t fill an entire 16oz jar…
Thought this would be a fun way to repurpose excess gloop! This process is super laborious which is why I haven’t continued to make Sprinx but these tests have got me scheming… 👀
What do you think?! What color Sprinx do you want to see? 🌈

Use experimental glazes with ZERO damage to your kiln shelves! 🛸
Here’s what you need to know:
Put a thin layer of Kiln Dust on your kiln shelves, provide ample sandy area in case your glazes move
Place your gloopy ceramics on top
Fire normally
Voila! You will be able to pick up your ceramics with zero stick! No damage to your ceramics, no damage to your kiln shelves…
Kiln Dust can be reused again and again! I’ve used mine upwards of 10+ cone 6 firings. When the sands starts to clump up it means it is starting to melt and you can discard it.
Let me know if you’ve got questions on how to use Silica Sand as kiln shelf protection ❤️
New texture combo unlocked! 🔓⛓️💥
This is your sign to mix and match your Wizard glazes… the texture opportunities are endless 🌈
