Vancouver, you showed up beautifully. This week at @websummit we took women in tech out of the conference halls and onto the waterfront for a Walky Talky: A Day in the Life of a Woman in Tech. New connections. Real conversations. Fresh air. Big questions. Zero awkward networking. There’s something powerful about walking side by side while sharing stories about careers, pivots, ambition, burnout, wins, and what’s next. Thank you Aileen De La Torre and Holly Burton for leading this incredible experience and helping create space for meaningful connection. The grand finale recap. Thursday, April 30 at AWS. The day we went from sessions to sailing (well, docked sailing, the Steamer Virginia V stays put 🌊). A full morning and afternoon of the kind of conversations that send you home different than you arrived. Boundaries, values, career skills AI can’t replace, the emotions we bring to work and the ones we hide. Real talk, all the way through. And then we walked to the water. 👟 The Regatta Closing Event aboard the Steamer Virginia V at Lake Union Park, where everything we’d built all week finally got to exhale. Together. The building started before the coffee was cold. ☕🛠️ #HackForSocialImpact sailed up from San Francisco for their first-ever Seattle edition, and on a rare sunny Sunday, the room was BUZZING. From prompting like pros to building with AI at the Mini Hackathon (shoutout to The Pioneer Lounge 🧪), to CO-STORM on Steroids, where we added prompting to the mix 🌪️✍️ AND we took it outside. Walky Talky with TechWalk Vancouver had us connecting and walkin’! Three days. One amazing community.
