How can one transform one’s past into something new in the present? Join artist Yihk Qu Chan as she teaches how to fold paper turtles out of old memory remnants and shares how meaning can be made through the repetition of gestures. Participants are encouraged to bring any personally significant paper materials they wish to let go of. Paper will also be provided by the artist. Participants can choose to take their turtles home or add their folded memory to the artist’s collection.

April 25th, 1-4pm,
📍VUFFF Fieldhouse, Burrard View Park, 545 North Slocan Street, Vancouver
During this workshop, you will collage your page, write out your recipe, and create a short poem that captures the essence of your dish. We will then scan your page and add it to our free digital community cookbook, which will be published at the end of this month.
Artist Sasha Cerino will help you translate the sensations, feelings, and emotions behind the dish you love into a short poem to accompany your recipe. And we will be providing collaging materials to bring the colours and textures of your recipe onto the page. We will also be providing snacks, but if you'd like to bring something to share, feel free.

We are so happy with how this issue came out and the playful way it pushes the boundaries of what publication and binding look like.
