I’m truly empowered to play my new live electronic music set alongside an incredible group of friends and bandmates—Monette Marino @monettemarinomusic , Jacob Russo @jacoblrusso , and Tada @boutiquepedalnyc . They’re called The Pulse. People I love, respect deeply as human beings and musicians, and have known for many years. It’s truly an honor. More than anything, it’s a gift to share this with the world—especially with San Diego, in the way I’ve always felt it in my heart. It’s taken me years to get here. Coming from acoustic instruments, bands, and uncountable jam sessions, the world of laptops and production felt distant. But at the same time, I loved it. I loved the expansion, the evolution of sound—I couldn’t just be a spectator. Producing electronic music has been beautiful and powerful, but also lonely, tiring, and full of questions. I always wanted to merge the two worlds—acoustic and electronic—without losing my essence. And I found it’s really just about doing it. Over and over again. Letting it take shape through the process. There were so many voices. The pressure. The perfectionism. The constant question: am I capable? I’m still learning. Still kicking demons off my back when they get too loud. But now I’m doing it from a deeper place. A more honest place. My relationship with music feels sacred now. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about showing up with heart, with truth, with love. The only audience I care about is God. The rest is just part of the journey. So here I am. This is my new single, “Sol Te Llama.” It marks my first release since 2023 and the beginning of a new chapter in my music career as Santiago Orozco. It’s the first glimpse of a body of work I’ll be sharing this year—music released under the name I’ve been walking with in this life. I wrote this song when I was 15 years old. It was the first song I ever fully wrote, finished, and performed in front of people—my first real step as a singer-songwriter. At the time, reggae was at the core of my sound, so that’s how it was born. It gave me my first glimpse of what I was capable of as an artist deeply in love with music. Over the past three years, this version has slowly taken shape into what it is now: a ballad. After sharing it in intimate, powerful spaces, I felt it was time to bring it into the world. It moves me to see how the lyrics are still relevant, no matter how much time has passed or how much I’ve grown as a human being. This song is a reminder that no matter what you’re going through—confusing, messy, difficult, challenging, beautiful, fulfilling, or even neutral—“Sol Te Llama”… the sun is calling you. I had the chance to work with my incredible friends at @w1se.records in San Diego, a place I call home, and with the amazing @sandygoddess on backing vocals. Una de mis experiencias más especiales en este viaje fue escuchar a ‘Don Bene’ un local, nativo de esta bella tierra. En el poco tiempo que estuvimos en su presencia nos enseñó de los manglares, el ecosistema, los animales y la vida de su comunidad. Una comunidad que ha enfrentado desafíos a través de los años, pero con su fuerza, talentos y sabiduría siguen adelante, apreciando los regalos de la vida y tierra. Aprendí mucho de su simpleza y de su agradecimiento por la vida. Muchas gracias ‘Don Bene’ por todo lo que nos compartió, por su tiempo, por su conocimiento, sabiduría y por navegar con nosotros.. Una de las fuerzas más sanadoras es la de la naturaleza… En esta playa de Coquí, Chocó – Colombia, me dejé inspirar y rendir ante la majestuosidad de la tierra y la danza de sus ecosistemas: la lluvia, las olas, la selva y sus cantos. Visité una tierra mágica, verde, sanadora, llena de riquezas, belleza, amor profundo y una calidad de gente incomparable: Coquí, Chocó – Colombia. Puro amor, vida y generosidad… corazones de oro… gente hermosa por donde camines, naturaleza palpitante, paz, pureza y conexión; queda corto expresarlo con palabras. Me siento tan afortunado de haber podido conocer esta hermosa parte de Colombia.
