- Back Story: After Breezy wore @verusgrace back to back shows, the team reached out and asked for more pieces for him on his tour…and if I could get it to them same day! If you know me…I’m going to make some motion and get it done by any means….with only a half day, I created 4 custom pieces off the strength of pure creative improvisation and this was 1 of 4 custom pieces made☠️🔥….Got them to his team and shipped same day! The concept of this video came about through a conversation me and @rabbirecc had discussing our prayer life and the different battles we face daily. The “WAR ROOM” as we know it, is our secret place, our hiding place to talk with god and be in his presence. We all have that place we go to - to disconnect from the physical and connect with the spiritual…but knowing that’s where the war truly is. So when editing - I wanted emphasize the color grades of each scene , creating a different mood as if each scene is another war room. We shot this in about an hour..,
I can say more but I want you to experience the art as it speaks to you. This song is special. It’s different. It’s real.

If only you knew the journey it’s been not just with wanting to become one of the greats but designing for one the greats @chrisbrownofficial ✨ 4 years ago I had the honor to have my pieces put on his tour - not even thinking bro would see em due to how many clothes are brought on tour but god had other plans and gave me a dream two nights before the first show of a pair of scissors cutting off pieces of a shirt…which directed me to make all my garments sleeveless and cropping them (last slide) to make the fit of my shirts flow and easy to wear while sweating….to two days later getting a call that CB was wearing my “set free” tee 🌎 … and the rest was history. Y’all don’t know how much that moment meant to me & I’m honored to have my pieces/designs be apart of history and apart of his journey over the last 4 years. Whether you support or not …this is our generations MJ & to be able to have designs I created from my crib, even my bedroom at times…to being worn on the biggest stages all over the world , shows that if you believe in yourself, work hard for it and trust gods timing …there’s nothing impossible.

HOMEMADE pt. III “KENSINGTON”
A FILM BY GRXCE
I wanted to end the HOMEMADE series with my first love…basketball. When I was shooting this, it was my first time being in this gym since I was kid…being on the court brought so many memories…I literally lived on the court, ball in hand everywhere….real life hoop dreams. So filming this, I wanted to recreate the essence of when me and my brother would always play ones…don’t matter when or where, if it was a ball and a goal…we lacing up. The game of basketball is embedded into everything I do. I look at fashion and film like I did when I was hooping…so thank you KENSINGTON GYM.

This is a visual experience of my childhood shot at locations that were monumental in my upbringing to not only myself but to my family as well.
SLIDE 2-5 : “NEW JERUSALEM” this was the church i was raised in - the church where i fell in love with music - the church i made my first friends (which were my family), the church where everybody was my family - the church i first saw someone fall out lol - the church i got popped because me and my cousins playing while the pastor was preaching lol…the church i learned what love & family is. This is forever my church.
SLIDE 6-9 : “22nd QUINDARO” my childhood home…
The house that shaped me, the memories here are heavy and embedded in my dna - going back here and filming was emotional, not only because the condition it’s currently in because my pops put years of labor up keeping the house but because the history it holds…i can go days of sharing it but 2766 will forever be embedded.

This place was a mandatory stop weekly..damn near daily.
Every Sunday before church we stopping there to get a slice of pizza , a little Debbie’s honeybun and a James Lemonade…(yes this was before going to church lol) my love for pizza and honeybuns was because of this place. If you from Wyandotte you was here weekly, especially if u in the neighborhood. This place shaped us, gave us help, free slices, candies, chips just because we was kids around the block. This place is forever embedded.

I played my first basketball game here…i saw my pops play here for the first time. I fell in love with the game here at this gym. If you know me …i really use to give n*ggas buckets lol but this place is truly a staple in the community. If you from the city you done stepped on this court. I can go on & on but this place is embedded.
To be able to go back to the places that raised/shaped me and film/shoot my family in my designs is truly full circle. I never dreamed of doing anything like this when I was a kid…god is amazing. I’m just the vessel.
