“Do you look at your clothes differently when you see how they’re made?” It’s something we’ve heard often as founders, so here we are, sharing snippets of how your Kala cotton pieces are made, literally from scratch! A trip down to Kutch, with landscapes you don’t see often, and hearing stories that we as consumers, will possibly never hear!
Featured: Kala cotton in different stages. From seed to flower to the final produce. Along the way it turns into tiny bobbins of threads to a whole blob, and before you know it, it’s a garment you’re casually wearing at work! It’s amazing how many hands the fibre has passed through, the landscapes it’s traversed, to reach you!
Gathering our thoughts as we spent a good 10 days between Ahmedabad and Kutch earlier this month! Back in Delhi and and we can’t help but appreciate just how warm and welcoming the people of Ahmedabad were. Our first pop-up in the city with @ciceroni.in and it was nothing but સરસ!!
Big thanks to everyone who turned up, and shopped and shared their love for our work! It’s always, always so gratifying. Not to mention the food in the city had us indulge in some serious gluttony. Sometimes, while growing a business, you forget the fun. Tasks and to-dos take over. I’ve been pondering a lot the last couple of weeks, over the way forward for the brand, given it’s our only mainstay, only commitment, not to mention while navigating some amount of self doubt. Oh and don’t get me wrong, the brand continues to grow and receive all the love! But as an individual, I’ve always been my biggest critic, and am forever living with a desire to do more! I’m not sure what I exactly want to say, except for the fact that I cannot wait to bring you guys some dreamy stuff very soon again! And maybe just maybe, I’ll learn to let go a little bit of the self doubt this year 🙆🏻♀️

Sometimes you’ve just got to go back to where you started. And it’s not always a bad thing. We had a bunch of new winteresque pieces lying with us, waiting to be shot. Finally decided to just do it ourselves, bring back the mood from a few years ago, when we were just figuring it out. Turns out, after all these years of running the brand, we’re still figuring out something new each day, but boy, is it a journey! Thank you for being here with us! All the madness & fun that was the last week! Back in Delhi after a great first pop-up in Bangalore. From meeting you guys in person, spotting with N. randomly on the streets (should’ve taken a picture) and being deeply satisfied with the idea that people float around the world in the clothes we make, all the prep, the confusion, the calories, and not to mention, the greenery of the city! Big thanks to everyone who came to say hello, who came wearing with N. to the event, and who simply keep cheering us on!
