New proof just in⦠and we are so excited about this one.
Weāve just received an early copy of Wonderland by @hannanordenhok , brought into English by award-winning translator @saskia.vogel , landing this September.
From the author of our 2024 #FeaturedFive favourite Caesaria, this is a kaleidoscopic exploration of identity and the stories we construct to survive. Shifting between a woman drifting between cities and towns along the Pacific Coast, rival journalists in Athens caught in a cat-and-mouse game of fact and fiction, and a carefully curated life in southern Sweden balanced on a knifeās edge, Wonderland unfolds like a hall of mirrors - its characters trying to find their way in that slippery world of post-truth.
Shortlisted for major literary prizes and already named among Swedenās best books of the year, this is one weāve been dying to read.
Thanks to @pressheloise for the early copy!
āI also read another book,Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982, I loved reading that book, it was basically the story of every woman ever, Iām still in my early adulthood, but I resonated with everything thatās written on that book about being a woman, stuck in a loop of inescapable sexism, feeling lost and confined to rules and demoralising, unfair treatments by the society. It was like watching an interesting k-drama,it kept me hooked till the last page. But the end just proves how even people capable of critical and analytical thinking, who knows and understands the struggles and consequences of the afore mentioned unfair systemic sexism just chooses to do something regressive.ā
It is a diary entry from three years ago. I have written a detailed review, please slide through the carousel to read themš³š»
