Pretty sweet that Nintendo America and Illumination reached out to me to produce two new songs in promotion of the best Mario franchise character of all time, Bowser Jr.
The first is a track celebrating his mysterious origins as “Shadow Mario” in Super Mario Sunshine, and his latest and greatest version “Wonder Bowser Jr.”, which is heavily featured in the new film, The Super Mario Galaxy movie.
They asked who I thought was the best person to do the artwork with the Mario brand and I volunteered myself of course, and they accepted! Guess even corporate IP dogs roll over. Maybe they thought I was kidding? I wasn’t.
Next up in the partnership is a project pioneering the new micro genre of Mansion Synth, in preparation for the yet announced Luigi’s Mansion Movie due out April 1, 2028… I told them they’re fools for not releasing it in October!

Okay since there are now 100 of you here I’ll introduce myself!
I’m Will and I make dungeon synth and fantasy ambient music. I do it to reconnect with childhood wonder and celebrate my muses of Myth, Folklore, and the Old Ways.
I am releasing my first album “The Ballad of Merlyn” in a serialized fashion, the way a bard would build out a repertoire of songs and tales. It’s about Merlyn and his mysterious origins with one foot in history and the other in imagination. It approaches his legacy on the premise that if a story was ever told about the greatest magician of all time, every word is to be believed, no matter how strange and contradictory details might seem.
Two entries are out now and third on the way, and the cost goes up a dollar for each new addition to reward early supporters. I’ve already received some really incredible responses so far and I’m thrilled to see how you all enjoy the rest!
