Happy World Migratory Bird Day! Did you know more than 350 bird species migrate through Wisconsin each spring, like this black-throated green warbler? Wisconsin’s forests, wetlands, grasslands, and shorelines provide critical habitat for migratory birds to rest, feed, and nest along their long journeys. Celebrate by donating to the Great Wisconsin Birdathon and helping us reach our goal of raising $130,000 for bird conservation. All funds raised go directly to our Bird Protection Fund, which supports the highest priority conservation needs for Wisconsin's birds. Learn more and donate at the link in our bio. Did you think this beauty was a Fat Bird Week contestant? Nope! Fat Bird Week round 2 opens at 9am tomorrow! 📸: Andy Raupp Image: a black-throated green warbler perched on a thin branch #GreatWisconsinBirdathon #BirdProtectionFund #BirdConservation #MigratoryBirds #Conservation #WisConservation

Last week, NRF's 'Quacks in the Foundation' staff Birdathon team headed to Lake Kegonsa State Park and Lake Farm County Park for some Birdathon fun! We recorded a total of 52 species, including a Tennessee warbler, blue-winged teal, and rose-breasted grosbeak. With the support of our friends and family, our team surpassed our fundraising goal and has raised $3,200 so far! Wisconsin Fat Bird Week is back for another helping! Let's celebrate our chunky native birds and learn one of the best ways to help them: by feeding them. And we're not talking about refilling your bird feeders, we're talking about nature's surprisingly fattening salad bar: plants that are native to Wisconsin. Find out how this year's Fat Bird Week contestants got in the best shape to compete at the link in our bio. Fat Bird Week begins THIS Friday! Every day from May 8th through May 15th you'll get the chance to vote for your favorite bulbous bird and decide who will waddle home with the crown. 📸: Steve Antonius Image: chestnut-sided warbler eating a worm in a tree #WisconsinFatBirdWeek #FatBirdWeek #NativePlants #BirdConservation #Conservation #WisConservation @sossaveoursongbirds
