So many new faces around here so I wanted to come on and say HI 👋 I’ve never shared the full story behind starting my biz so here’s the long version:
My name is Alexis, I’m a believer, wife, teacher, and the owner/creator behind Wire and Stone. I started making jewelry with my mom when I was 7. It began as a fun way to create pretty pieces for the women in my church, my soccer friends, and for family members. My mom has always been my biggest supporter and she helped me build a HUGE collection of beads and jewelry making supplies.
As I got older, I put my energy into other activities and slowly drifted away from jewelry making. The collection my mom helped build waited patiently in my closet for years.
In October 2020, I was beginning my senior year of college and had a desire to create a few jewelry pieces for myself. Soon, my friends and their friends wanted me to create pieces for them so I finally returned to my jewelry tools and started creating! I hosted my first pop up in my dorm room which helped to spread the word and made me realize there were so many girls who liked my creations! Within a few days, I built a website, instagram, and began creating non stop. Since then, I’ve grown so much, learned a ton about business management, met so many wonderful people, had many pop ups, and truly LOVE everything about Wire and Stone. I strongly suggest everyone creates a side gig from something they’re passionate about! Even though this isn’t my full time job, I love having this creative outlet that brings me so much JOY!
I hope Wire and Stone continues to be a light for the Lord, a fun side hustle for my husband and I, and a way to bring others joy. It’s been a long time since lil 7 year old Lexi created her first necklace🤍I’m so happy you’re here to share in this journey and growth.
