When mom and dad are watching on from Spain.
Winter Park Police was proud to swear in two new officers today, one of whom was Ofc Sara Vicente. When they learned a proud mom and dad weren't able to be there in person, her new department arranged for a surprise via zoom.
Ofc Vicente follows in her dad's law enforcement footsteps.
Amazing day for a walk ๐ We were so proud to get out in support of Dommerich and Brookshire elementary school, who hosted special autism awareness walks over the weekend.
Love being a part of their schools days - but also these special weekend events. We had a blast ๐

Join us for coffee on March 31, from 9-11am at the Starbucks on Lee Rd/I4.
No surprise, one of our favorite community events - involves COFFEE. That morning, we'll be serving it up hot (or iced, blended.. whatever you order).
We've found some of our best conversations have begun over a cup of coffee. We love to meet new residents in our community, and catch up with those who call Winter Park home or their place of business.
We do hope you'll add us to your morning routine that day.. and in the meantime we'll start working on our best barista skills. Any barista tips for us... favorite drinks... drop them here โ๏ธ

Officer of the Year | Detective Corey Mitchell, Street Crimes Unit
During the recent State of the City Address, amongst loved ones, peers and members of our community, Detective Corey Mitchell was announced as the Winter Park Police Department's Officer of the Year.
DET. Mitchell is an intricate member of the WPPD, with his direct contributions not only strengthening the agency - but helping ensure the City of Winter Park remains a safe community.
Over the course of the last year, DET Mitchell has made several high-profile narcotics and warrant arrests. His efforts have directly resulted in the removal of trafficking-level quantities of cocaine, fentanyl and marijuana from our streets. His efforts are beyond captured in a single post, but include countless hours of surveillance operations, crime analysis and case resolution.
In addition to his efforts against street crimes, he remains active with the SWAT team and drafts many of the operational plans to help keep the community safe during large signature events within the city.
He takes great pride in his work and performs every task at the highest level of professionalism. We are proud to see DET Mitchell named Officer of the Year. Congratulations, friend - and thank you.

Let's Talk About That ๐ Important Conversations
Congratulations to the graduates of the Fantastic Foundations Class at @stmargaretmarycs
This group of outstanding young people celebrated their graduation with classmates, family, school officials and a few of their new friends. Over the course of several weeks, students engaged in conversations with local officers about peer pressure, online safety, good citizenship, friendship, and other important topics to help them make healthy and safe decisions. They celebrated the conclusion of the course with several guest appearances, along with recognition for their participation in the course. Can't wait to see them grow ๐ป
