Until 14th June you can see my exhibition of 13 portraits taken for Edinburgh Universities Medical school and Edinburgh Science festival. It celebrates 300 years of the medical school, highlighting just a handful of the remarkable people involved past and present. It’s a really positive project to be involved with. I love science and got my own personalised TED talk at each shoot. Incredible people, history and stories. It’s currently on at Portobello Prom to mid June 2026. #edscifest #edinburghmedicalschool #edi300 #medicalschool #edinburghphotographer
Angel. From a studio shoot back in 2016. I created the series using a domestic projector with a series of graphic designs. I was just reviewing the original images and loved how this looked in colour. The whole series are available on my Winram Gallery. Link in bio. #fineartnude
Conemen Aeventos I (print link in bio) This was taken a number of years ago, featuring the lifelong Conemen and fellow photographer @peteriaincampbell . I left him there in the woods. I wonder if he’s still there? #conemen #theconemen #mythical #fineartphotography
A wee selection of Dead of Night images taken on the gothic streets of Edinburgh. Want one on your wall? Check links. The men in black are myself, Tom Gardner and Iain Lauder. I loved shooting these in almost total darkness. Technically it’s really tricky but I enjoy the challenge and love the occasional interaction from slightly nervous members of the public. Some ended up as book covers. Bet you can’t name the locations! #deadofnight #edinburghatnight #bookcover #streetphotography #hiddenscotland
Hazel Flew II. We have a tendency to underestimate what we are capable of. We want more freedom but are we the ones holding ourselves back? I loved this shoot. Artist Hazel Terry was so the right person to embody that state of unbound freedom. Check my links to have one hanging on your wall! #fineartprint #flyingwoman #powerfulwomen #freedom
I love ladders! I don’t know why but I think it’s because they are a great metaphor for escape or change in your life. I’ve always been drawn to mystery, humour and the esoteric life and I like that these images mirror that. Where would your ladder lead you to? Want one of these classic Scottish locations on your wall? Check out the links. #ladders #mysteriousart #esoteric #fineartphotography #WinramGallery #scotland
The irrepressible @irida_the_shapeshifter playing to her feral strengths. I love the power in this. Using my projector to cast those animal stripes Prints in Winram Gallery bio link. #nudeartphotography #feralwoman #powerfulwomen
I’ve been shooting posters for Dogstar Theatre for many years. I especially loved this one for their upcoming show, The Testament of Gideon Mac by acclaimed Scottish author James Robertson and directed by Meghan de Chastelain. Matthew Zajac playing the father as well as the devil is the perfect balance to Kevin Lennons faithless minister. Elements of this are set in a deep gorge so I tried to capture its foreboding feeling with rich colours and an overlay of winter trees. Check out the tour. I can’t wait to see it when it comes to the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh. #thetestamentofgideonmac #traversetheatre #scottishtheatre #theatreposters
This is definitely not AI, even though some AI bot at Instagram claims it is. Every European Land Art Festival @elaf_festivals my friend Rachel Frost of @thecrafty_beggars fame
comes to Dunbar and we have a play with one of her awesome hand crafted costumes. She’d made this wonderful mask and along with a fine staff and silks we leapt about on the rocks and took some joyful images. #medievalcostume #millinery #thecraftybeggars
The Hare I
I loved shooting this with my good friend Iain Campbell. I was shooting for Historic Environment Scotland for the day in the North East of Scotland so we snuck down to the Banff Lido at 6am to do these. The weather was perfect and the place was deserted. It’s a very surreal environment, a real sense of past glory days, perfect for our slightly darker vision. Check my bio for my linktree to my online gallery if you’d like a print from the series. #thehare #banfflido #mythical
Gentleman skiers I. After a hard day on the piste of North Berwick Law. Never was there a more suitable chap to play the part. Here’s to you Matt. #northberwick #gentleman #surrealism
