Day 12 - headed home We were having such a good time that we spontaneously added a day. Here are some of my favorite moments. My friends who have stuck by me on our journey, the daily postings will come to an end. We made proper use of our last day and got a couple of tattoos and lots of mai tais and beach time. Obsessed with the plant and flowers along our journey. I have been to Hana many times, but today we took our time. Super overcast day. I wish you could see the colors more vibrantly. A 10 Hour drive taking every turn we could. We chased every waterfall. The rainbow eucalyptus are incredible. Stopped in Paia Town for more shopping. To all my friends who will be spending time with me, I apologize in advance, but I will be wearing flowers and smelling like them all Summer.
It’s good to be home in Maui. As a child, we spent the holidays here every year and it brings back so many fond memories. As an adult it’s so nice to return and feels like home. I see my dad around every corner and I feel like he’s watching it over Mom and I and smiling. Staying back in Kaanapali at our old stomping ground and it’s nice to see the city rebuilding as we pass through Lahaina.
Sadly our time in Kauai has come to an end. Headed to Maui in the morning for the last leg of our adventure. I’ve been to many luaus, but I think tonight was one of my favorites.
The first picture is Mom and I starting out today on our balcony at our condo in Kapaa. Lin signed up to be our official Photographer. We spent the day wandering through old town, buying lots of stuff we did not need and then headed out to Poipu to everyone’s favorite restaurant @thebeachhousekauai . A perfect day in the books. We have to finish up the day with a tequila shot since it is Cinco de Mayo.
Kona was a happy pit stop. We took a drive over to Hilo and had to visit Rainbow Falls again. Our lunch covered all the Hawaiian basics. - macadamia nut banana pancakes, poke and loco loco. We went to the local farmers market and had lots of fresh fruit and shopped for more Hawaiian dresses. A girl cannot have too many Hawaiian dresses. Finished up the day at @huggoskona . Tomorrow morning, we are up bright and early to catch a flight to Kauai. I intended on journaling this 10 day adventure for myself and decided to share it with you. If it bores you, please just hide my feed for a couple weeks.
Magical first day in Kona. Exhausted from traveling and also exhilarated. The resort is spectacular. Watch our gentle giant friends in the last slide. We stood watching them for an hour. Looking forward to a good nights sleep. We got all our steps in today.
So I have clearly had a mental problem since I was a little girl and no matter how many times I’ve been to Hawaii and I know that you can’t wear make up and there’s no point in bringing lots of clothes because all you wear are swimsuits, shorts and little dresses. I still have an overpacking problem and I think I need official help. Please remember when looking at this picture that this also includes my mom’s clothes, but something’s gonna have to go. #needtherapy
