Some of the best #aerobatics and flying displays you will see anywhere in the world. The Air Force Roulettes back in South Coast skies. Show-stopping stunts, jets, iconic #warbirds, and a festival on the ground packed with endless entertainment. The weather cooperated, the flight line was packed and the biggest #airshow in regional Australia was on full display.

The @royalaustraliannavy MH-60R Seahawk with the stunning display over the @wingsovershellharbour airshow yesterday.
The Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk is the Royal Australian Navy’s primary naval combat helicopter, used for anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, surveillance, and search and rescue missions. Operated from Australian warships such as the Hobart-class destroyer and Anzac-class frigate, the MH-60R is equipped with advanced radar, sonar, torpedoes, and missiles that allow it to detect and engage threats both above and below the sea. Its versatility and modern technology make it one of the most capable maritime helicopters in service with the Royal Australian Navy.

🔥 Wings Over Shellharbour Day 1 Delivered 👀✈️
Today on the 16th of May, TheGroundCrew spent the first public day of Wings Over Shellharbour 2026 at Shellharbour Airport — and from the first engine start to the final display, the place was absolutely alive with aviation.
And this wasn’t just another airshow day.
Day 1 delivered some genuinely major moments — including the return of 4-ship SkyAces formation aerobatics, the first public airshow appearance for Pay’s two-seat Spitfire, the Shellharbour debut of the Corsair, and the de Havilland Vampire taking to the air for its first Shellharbour appearance.
Across the day, the lineup brought together an incredible mix of aircraft and displays — from the RAAF Roulettes, Wolf Pitts Pro, Zivko Edge 540, L-39 Albatros, Sea Fury, T-28 Trojan, Mustangs, Spitfires, Corsair and Kittyhawk, through to the Neptune, Orion, Huey, Seahawk, Grumman Avenger and more.
And when the flying paused… the action didn’t.
The Wall of Fire, Wheels vs Wings drag race, Rolling Runway Ute Landing, and Knife-Edge FMX Jump kept the energy high right across the afternoon.
On the ground, the atmosphere was just as good — packed crowds, aviation everywhere you looked, and the chance to catch up with pilots, airshow crew, photographers and attendees throughout the day.
