Bordeaux Airport - the grungy Easyjet bit - Saturday morning. Heading to the London Wine Fair that opens on Monday morning. I'll be commuting between pouring Le Grand Noir on the Beyond Wine stand (C27) and pouring K'AVSHIRI, including our experimental Pet Not on D68. If you're coming to the fair, please drop by. I'm there all three days

Georgian fast food. These pork and beef filled Kinkali dumplings aren't usually deep fried, but i decided to try these in Khinkali Inn in Tbilisi. I liked the look and the crunchy texture, but missed the sauce/gravy which is an intrinsic part of Khinkali. (Not sure why frying would affect it) The garlic sauce in the centre is often used for chicken. I'm not sure it worked here

On a day when almost everybody in Georgia stopped work to listen to the election of the new Patriarch (orthodox supreme leader), i happened across this shop that seems to sell nothing but icons (in the real sense of the word)

There are quite a few mixed messages here: wedding dresses, that 18+ sign... and then there's the text beneath it. Kutaisi, Georgia

Take a look in that cabinet. Maybe your local corner supermarket offers cakes like that, but this one in Kutaisi, Georgia, came as a surprise

If you love caringly curated second-hand bookshops, this market stand in Kurtaisi, Georgia may not be for you. But I like to imagine there being some treasures in those piles

At Ch Sansonnet, St Emilion, three staves: light, heavy and medium toast. The one that used to be so popular - heavy - is now out of fashion...
