On January 9, Alberto Gutierrez was sitting in front of my house, taking a much-deserved break from his job at a construction site next to us, when weaponized, masked ICE agents pulled up, tackled him without speaking to him, injured him, and threw him into a van. They were here for no more thsn ine minute.
Since then, he had been held in a detention facility in Riverside. He had not yet had his day in court. His family had been told he would be released on bail.
Yesterday, he died after complications from an illness he developed while being held in poor detention conditions.

I am heartbroken , I can’t stop crying, I’m disgusted that our country would detain — and ultimately lose — a man who showed up every day to his construction job, paid taxes and was a good citizen and neighbor. Now his wife has been left with nothing. It’s estimated that our taxes paid over $50,000 to kidnap, detain and kill this good loving family man. Let his name ring from the mountains. We marched all day and saw nothing but peace , love and support. The military and police were bored and posed for a conflict. I guess as the hours went by they decided to cause conflict with a few agitators . After the march we drove through downtown twice to go to the Angel City game that had an immigrants day theme. We saw no issues downtown. We live close by too . So… well it’s not 1/6/2020 . It was beautiful yodsy thf most diverse most pesvfcul protest . Thr military msy go bye bye we dont need you here.
