🥰 What a weekend! 🙏 A huge thank you to everyone who came down to our *SELL OUT* world premiere at the Smith Rafael Theater on Saturday, as part of @Doclands Film Festival. We've had some absolutely incredible feedback from audience members about their newfound love for bats, and how much they enjoyed the film. 🦇 It has been a true labor of love for many years, so seeing the film to completion and experiencing the joy and awe of our audience was truly something special. It was wonderful to welcome three of our film's stars - Corky Quirk, Dr Winifred Frick, Dr Alice Chung-MacCoubrey, as well as rescued 'education bats', who are advocates for all bat-kind. 📽️ If you missed the premiere and want to organize a screening near you, we'll be releasing details on how you can do that very soon. Let's spread this love for bats far and wide!

The Saturday ritual that always inspires me is the Farmers’ Market. Nothing like fresh produce, gorgeous flowers, and vibrant community to get in the creative flow. If you have any recipes for asparagus or mint, please share!

📰 Thank you to @pacificsunweekly for this awesome article about our film's World Premiere, happening on May 3 at Doclands Film Festival. 🦇 'Kristin Tièche’s doc, The Invisible Mammal, seeks to debunk many of the fears, myths and misunderstandings surrounding bats. Using beautiful slow motion cinematography and a bevy of California-based experts, Tièche’s film is certain to attract both wildlife lovers and chiroptophobes (folks with a deep fear of bats) alike. ' Read more about the festival and book tickets to our premiere 👉 link in our bio.

Ringing in the New Year with an 80s Dance party. I went Madonna-style and included a purple slap wrap. Chris took inspiration from Miami Vice. . Here’s to more adventure, community, and prosperity in 2025! Happy New Year 🥳. . . #happynewyear #tacoma #nitewave #80smusic

No Oregon Coast Christmas is complete without a walk on the beach. Gauging the time between rain storms is an art form.

When I say I’m a fan of “Wicked”, here is what I mean… 💚 🖤 🩷 . . 1. I saw the play on Broadway TWICE with the original Broadway cast (in 2003 and 2004). Swipe to see the 2nd photo (circa March 2004). 2. I have seen the musical at least 7 times in total. (I stopped saving the programs after my 6th one). 3. I have a framed poster of the original Broadway cast. 4. I dressed up as Elphaba for Halloween, complete with green face paint on my hands and my ears. My Q-tips were green for a week. That is commitment! 5. I have the soundtrack on CD and digitized. 5. When I moved from NYC back to the west coast, I cried to “Defying Gravity” on the plane as it took off. 6. Speaking of “Defying Gravity”, it is still the best send-off to intermission of any musical I’ve seen. 7. The songs I always cry to are (in order of appearance): “Not that Girl”, “Defying Gravity”, and “For Good”. 8. I read the book by Gregory Maguire. 9. I own The Grimoire (collector’s edition) book. 10. For my friend’s 30th Birthday, I typed out and framed the lyrics to “For Good”. So I had mixed feel about the film adaptation. I did not want to be disturbed by the other superfans singing in the theatre, so I waited until the second weekend to see it. Here is my quick film review (No Spoilers!): * It was great for a male director. * I enjoyed the plot updates they drew from the book to round out the characters. * I loved the representation, DEI, and Belonging within the film. * I cried more during the film than the plays. * I can’t wait for Part 2. Plus, I WILL be going to the sing-along version they are releasing in December! What do you think of the play and/or film? . #wicked #wickedmovie #wickedthemusical #elphaba #womeninfilm #theatre
