The time I feel like we wait months for 😅 gardening season!! 🪴 This month we are painting little snapshots of simple times in a garden. We’re painting a whimsical garden shed scene and rustic terracotta pots newly planted for spring. If you’ve never painted terracotta pots, then you’re going to LOVE this tutorial! They are so much fun to paint 😍

When I became a mom, then a mom to two, I let so many months go by and never picked up a brush. I thought there needed to be this perfect 1-2 hours of kid free time to paint, but that became harder to find between motherhood, housework and business to dos.
I finally realized there doesn’t have to be the perfect 1 hour quiet session to paint. It can be while holding your baby, sitting at the breakfast table with your family, or 20 minutes before bed instead of scrolling.
There are ways to make painting more achievable in just 15-30 minutes. One of my best tips to painting in smaller pockets of time is having an idea and sketch ready to paint.

I break this painting down in simple steps and stages, starting with the background, then focusing on the bunny and simple layering techniques for painting fur, and lastly the finishing details of the grass and flowers that give the painting depth.
