When I first started painting pet portraits, I didn’t have the best supplies. I totally guessed on paint colors and chose the wrong paper. If only I knew then what I know now, I would have saved myself a lot of stress and frustration 😮‍💨 After painting hundreds of dogs and cats for people all around the world, I’ve learned so much from supplies to color mixing and painting techniques. Now, I’m sharing ALL that I’ve learned inside of my Complete Beginner’s Guide to Watercolor Pet Portraits. Inside you’ll find: ✨My watercolor supplies list ✨How to sketch a portrait ✨What makes a good reference photo and how to fix a bad one ✨Color mixing for all types of dogs and cats including the tricky white and black fur coats ✨Painting techniques for short, long and curly fur textures ✨Tips for running a pet portrait business! Comment GUIDE and I’ll send you a link to download my free Beginner’s Guide (or you can find it linked in my profile)🐶🖌

When I became a mom, then a mom to two, I let so many months go by and never picked up a brush. I thought there needed to be this perfect 1-2 hours of kid free time to paint, but that became harder to find between motherhood, housework and business to dos. I finally realized there doesn’t have to be the perfect 1 hour quiet session to paint. It can be while holding your baby, sitting at the breakfast table with your family, or 20 minutes before bed instead of scrolling. There are ways to make painting more achievable in just 15-30 minutes. One of my best tips to painting in smaller pockets of time is having an idea and sketch ready to paint. That’s a big reason why I started Windswept Watercolor Club, so you’ll have painting ideas, sketches and tutorials ready for you to keep painting when life gets busy. Don’t let weeks, months or years go by without picking up a brush 🖌️ Comment CLUB to start painting today! 🎨

Comment “WWC” for this full step by step bunny tutorial 🐰🖌️ Painting this bunny was so fun and is a great tutorial for anyone new to watercolor! I break this painting down in simple steps and stages, starting with the background, then focusing on the bunny and simple layering techniques for painting fur, and lastly the finishing details of the grass and flowers that give the painting depth. This class also comes with an outline so you don’t need to worry about sketching the bunny perfectly. As a member of Windswept Watercolor Club, you can paint this bunny, as well as other spring tutorials from flowers to birds, plus bonus paintable greeting cards and access to a private community where I answer your questions and support you on your watercolor journey 🫶🖌️ Comment “WWC” below for more details! 🎨
