like my performance @ the nye show, my set this weekend was dedicated to my friend sian, who, as many of you know, tragically passed away this past December. theyve been in my thoughts often since then and its just made me think even mroe about the horrors of what the occupying force in palestine is doing w/ the support of the imperial core - the genocide, destruction, and terror.
we can't be desensitized to the "numbers" -- each life lost is that of someone who is loved, whose loss is felt, whose memory will live on, and whose sacrifice must not be in vain.
it's the duty of those living in imperial states to speak up. the genocide won't stop because you've stopped posting about it. when i think about the loss of my friend, i think about how incomprehensible it is to me to lose entire bloodlines, entire cultures, entire communities, entire cities.
noura said something that I'll paraphrase. if you haven't been speaking out, it's not too late to start. what matters most is that you start. we've all been ignorant to things in the past. let that be the past and become someone who is part of the solution. theres something you can be doing, even if it's as little as boycotting.
