I lived for the glossy results, for that moment of tearing open the yellow Kodak envelopes and submerging myself in the frozen frames, the new realities , life -thickening windows onto a captured world that beat the rush of time.
Even de accidents were fresh , new and welcome : bad exposures , double exposures , wild movements , high-speed flukes , light leaks , lost focusing.
Learning to appreciate these exciting mistakes was part of the magic.
