Wimbledon Alley - Take Your Time
It's almost inevitable for an artist to teeter in and around other genres, especially with a core sound as versatile as easycore. The latest EP from Minnesota outfit Wimbledon Alley (@wimbledonalley ) is exactly that: a punchy, unfiltered snapshot of a band unafraid to throw genres at the wall. Having first discovered them back in 2018 with their stellar 'Sports Ball' EP, their sound has twisted and evolved into something truly idiosyncratic.'Take Your Time' once again is an energetic blend of easycore and hyperpop, a concoction that's as whimsical as it is lovable. Tracks like 'SAVE IT!' and 'find a way' showcases Wimbledon Alley at its best, balancing the glittering chaos of hyperpop with the earnest emotion behind harder pop-punk. The buzzing electronic elements collide head-on with chunky, palm-muted guitars, the kind that are pulled straight from the depths of 2010s easycore. Slower moments like the literally titled 'slow down' let the layered instrumentation breathe, locking into the synth lines and doubling hooks to make everything hit that much harder. With such a dichotomy between the two core genres (no pun intended), what makes 'Take Your Time' really land is how naturally the hyperpop sheen and easycore grit coexist ;the glossy synths amplify the emotional highs while the raw guitars and crashing drums keep everything grounded. Wimbledon Alley's latest release is a heartfelt collision of genres that at first may seem peculiar, but after listening to it somehow feels more honest because of it.

The EP is finally out!
I wrote all the instrumentals about 2 years ago and finished all the lyrics probably a year ago but I had been fighting myself over mixing and mastering for the entirety of that time period.
I tried out some new guitar tunings, bought some new instruments, and listened to a LOT of Tiny Moving Parts while writing this, I just wanted it to be my best sounding work, but at this point I just wanted it all done and out so I can keep writing more because I've felt SO stuck on this.
Anyways, enjoy the culmination of all my favorite genre's in one release and I hope it resonates with you the way it does for me.
It looks like its up on Spotify and iTunes/Apple Music right now so just search up Wimbledon Alley or i can make my bio link go there as well.
