I was lucky enough to be the Director of Photography on a film entitled Bigfoot Woods about a year and a half ago. It was a great experience and the entire crew worked very hard try in bringing the story, by Bruce Pavalon and Abel Pavalon, to life.
We shot way up north in Ely, Minnesota, a town of about 3400 people that was once very important in the mining history of iron ore. Today much of the town profits from people going to Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, a 1 million acre wilderness of interconnected lakes and rivers that hosts more than 150,000 visitors a year Needless to say, it’s a very unique place with unique people.
The film received the Prairie Spirit Award from Fargo Film Festival and will be shown in a few weeks, on 3/21/2026.
Thank you to the entire cast and crew, you should all be very proud of the film that we all had a part in making.
