As part of the triple concert curated by Stellage at KET, we host tomorrow the first live performance of Nika Son and Will Guthrie as a duo.
🔷 Musician, artist and film composer Nika Son (Hamburg) is also a DJ and curator. In her work (compositions, video, installations), she explores multisensory perception, its limits, and the forms of manipulation and illusion associated with it.
Combining a dreamlike form of musique concrète with analog and digital media, broken rhythms, voices and modulated tape, her work reflects the fluid and ever-changing nature of the night. Sounds from various origins are translated into an unusual musical language. Her debut album was released by Entr'acte and Stellage in 2020. Her new album Aslope was released in 2024 by V I S, and the soundtrack DRIFT by Futura Resistenza. She regularly organizes art and music events, mainly at Golden Pudel Club in Hamburg. Since 2019, she has been co-curator of the Papiripar festival.
🔷 Based in France, Australian drummer and percussionist Will Guthrie uses amplifiers, electronics and various combinations of percussion. He leads the hybrid ensemble ENSEMBLE NIST-NAH. In recent years, he has developed a series of radical solo works with relentless rhythmic exercises and explored the low frequencies of the gong and other metal instruments.
His work is distinguished by its intricate and multi-layered rhythmic approach, touching on aspects of traditions from Java and South India. He has released more than 50 albums on labels such as Black Truffle, Editions Mego, Erstwhile, Clean Feed, Gaffer Records, Hasana Editions, 23five, iDEAL, Coherent States, as well as on his own label, Antboy Music.

Stellage presents a night at KET. Three live sets meandering from brooding electronics and eccentric analogue synthesized pieces to unexpected, improvised combinations of percussion, analogue synthesis, and voices.
➖DE l’ANGLE MORT (Lionel Marchetti & Patrick Charbonnier) is an atypical electronic duo that experiments live with earthy, rugged, harsh, ravaged, turbulent, and mechanical music that is nevertheless metaphorical, full of breath and life. A new album has just been released by Biom Editions label based in Greece. A trio cassette tape with Claire Bergerault is also available in Greece from moremars label.
➖RVDS is Richard von der Schulenburg and one of Hamburgs’ most versatile musicians and producers. Seemingly playfully and yet meticulously, he works his way into musical phenomena: between acid house, electro, Italo disco and sound experiments, anything can happen, but never at the same time. The result is a scramble of musical personalities that have one thing in common: they reveal pure substance and never confuse humor with irony.

➖Nika Son works as a musician, artist, film composer, DJ and curator in Hamburg. In her compositions, video- and soundworks she examines multi-sensory perception, its bounderies and interaction, but also forms of manipulation and illusion. Weaving oneiric musique concrète with analog and digital synthesis, broken rhythms, voices and modulated tape, her work captures the fluid, ever-shifting nature of the night, making the familiar strange and the surreal strangely familiar.
➖Will Guthrie is an Australian drummer / percussionist living in France. He plays solo using different combinations of drums, percussion, amplification and electronics, and leads the contemporary hybrid percussion / gamelan group ENSEMBLE NIST-NAH. Alongside continuing his electro-acoustic work, in the last decade, Guthrie has returned to the drums with a vengeance, developing a series of solo works marked by a radical single-mindedness, from relentless rhythmic workouts to earth-quaking explorations of the bass frequencies of gongs and other metal percussion instruments.

A sua prática parte da bateria, mas rapidamente se expande para um campo mais amplo que integra percussão, amplificação, eletrónica e estruturas inspiradas na tradição gamelão do sudeste asiático.
Editou mais de cinquenta discos e colaborou com figuras centrais da música de vanguarda como Roscoe Mitchell, Mark Fell, Keith Rowe, Sarah Hennies ou Jean-Luc Guionnet. O seu trabalho circula por selos fundamentais da música exploratória, entre os quais Editions Mego, Erstwhile ou iDEAL, além da Black Truffle, editora fundada por Oren Ambarchi. Paralelamente, Guthrie conduz o Ensemble Nist-Nah, coletivo dedicado à exploração contemporânea da tradição gamelão, que passou pelo gnration em 2025.

💿 Out now: listen to @ensemble_nist_nah perform live at Le Guess Who? 2025, bringing a fusion of gamelan and experimental percussion to Utrecht’s iconic Jacobi church.
Led by @willwillguthrie , Ensemble Nist-Nah draws on a wide range of traditional Indonesian musics and gong-based sounds from Southeast Asia, including Javanese gamelan Sekaten, the intense repetition of the Jathilan trance ritual, and the shimmering textures of Balinese composer Dewa Alit.
