Guess who’s on @nightagentnetflix for a hot second?! 😄 It might seem small, just one line, but this was my first SAG gig, so it was such a thrill to me to be a part of such a big production and to take it all in! Here’s to more roles and more lines! 🙏 Go watch season 2 of The Night Agent on @netflix

I blame it on singing! I was pretty much exclusively listening to and singing music in English - even before I spoke the language! I was basically just imitating the sounds that I heard, not necessarily reading (and understanding) the words. Because of that I never had a thick accent when speaking English - though it definitely wasn’t perfect! Thanks to my classmates who always pointed out any mistakes that I made I was able to reduce my accent pretty quickly. And now most people have no idea that I didn’t grow up in America, didn’t go to an international school or that I didn’t speak English until I was like 13 years old (and even then it was just a couple of words I learned in school hahah!). My husband says my accent is only noticeable right after I get off the phone with my parents (with whom I always speak swiss german 😋). But even though I was able to reduce my accent and make it pretty much unnoticeable, I have no idea how to teach others to do the same… But that’s why I had my good friend and accent coach @willvanmoss on our podcast where he shared some amazing tips to learn a new accent or reduce your current accent! Go check it out on From Singer To Artist on all platforms 🤗 x Lara

Rate my German accent 😂 Y’all that was BAD - I know hahaha And it’s crazy because my mother tongue is Swiss German and I grew up speaking German my entire life. But then doing a German accent while speaking is SO hard for me and doesn’t come natural at all… Accent coach @willvanmoss helped me understand what goes into creating that German accent, but then he was also very clear that it takes practice to get just right. Btw same goes for reducing an accent! You just need to understand what the differences are and then practice, practice, practice… Just like singing, that takes practice too 😉 Can you do any accents? x Lara

Here’s why this is so smart ⬇️ Will, CorBen and Bruno all diversified as actors. They all work in TV, Film and theatre (some credits include the Night Agent (Netflix), Beetlejuice National Tour). But as you know, it can be extremely hard to make a living as an actor. It’s not easy to land jobs and most jobs pay quite poorly. So to make sure they can pay their bills they leaned into their passions that helped them stay connected to the industry while earning a living! @willvanmoss started dialect/accent coaching his fellow actors. @officialcorbenw started his own business (@htbisb ) teaching actors How To Business In Show Business. @bruuribeb is a headshot fotographer. Other roles still within the industry I’ve seen other actors take on are assistant to directors, voice teacher, make up artist, singing waiter etc. As an actor or musician you have to get creative to make sure you can pay your bills. What are some jobs that you could do to stay connected to the industry and still pay the bills? It’s so fun to see what my fellow classmates from @newyorkfilmacademy have been up to. I’m so proud of them and wish them all the best in their careers. Want to see if going to school for musical theater is the right choice for you? Or see what it’s like and what the graduates have been up to since graduating 10 years ago? Check out the full episode on our podcast From Singer To Artist! x Lara
