CUT LOOSE ❤️🩹 (how it came to be)
This song came together in the most normal way — I was in the studio playing with my kids when
@keenante sent me an unfinished demo.
I got it instantly.
It reminded me of the R&B I grew up on in high school… young love, constant heartache 😂 so yeah, I’d lived those lyrics more times than I could count (in the most dramatic way 🤣).
What Keenan had written made it easy to finish the story that was already there.
I recorded it, saved it… and it disappeared into the ether of my external hard drive 😅
Then one day I stumbled across it again. With fresh ears, I finally heard the direction it needed to go.
I reproduced it, polished the vocals, then sent it to
@chunkyluvmusic to bring the guitars to life — and man… he put serious sauce on it 😮💨 that solo at the end speaks for itself.
To glue it all together, I hit up my guy
@samv.1010 and he helped me bring that backing-vocal glue goodness.
After mixing and mastering it (more times than I probably should’ve 😅), Cut Loose was finally born.
I’m really proud of this one. I love creating music with friends who are insanely talented in their own right.
