We are so excited to introduce @willmellorr to our Hula-Hop Tape series. We first met Will some years ago, during his period living in Valencia, where he was already showcasing his talent in different venues. We met again this year together with the lovely @onefortymusic and we really felt a special flavour in every record he played, so we asked him if he’d like to record a mix for us.
Will is now based in Manchester, is the co-founder of @circagroove Records and resident DJ of Manchester collective @onefortymusic . He’s been playing across parties in the North of the UK and London since 2019 and recently made his debut at Fabric. He also played throughout Europe, including Valencia, where he felt a deep connection to the city’s unique club culture and through that quickly became acquainted with Hula-Hop.
In his own words, this mix “is a culmination of some more relaxed sounds that I’m digging, with the club as an afterthought. It’s a softer moment and is intended to be slower off the mark, ending with something more driven but still stripped-back. It’s been extremely rewarding to pull together a deeper piece of work, as I’m really connected to this shade of electronic music and have included some of my most treasured records from this corner of my collection. I’ve been hugely fond of this series as a listener, so I’m really pleased to be able to give my take on it.”

@jack.kirwan____ an avid digger known for weaving rare finds and off centre gems with a style that sits in a sweet spot between chuggy house and wonky minimal.
Both with the experience of crafting seamless, sleek warm ups, we’re excited to see the coming together of both parties to set the tone.
